Life Expectancy
It is impossible to give an exact life expectancy on a filter cartridge for a respirator. This is because the filter life depends on a number of variable factors including the wearers breathing rate, the characteristics and level of the contaminant, the length of time a user is exposed to a contaminant and environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity which could also effect the wearers breathing rate. Saturated or used filter cartridges will leak trace amounts of contaminants to the wearer, which may be detected via odour, taste, and/or irritation – If a contaminant can be detected by any of these means by a user, then filter cartridges should be changed immediately.
Applications
These filters have been designed to protect workers against a wide range of contaminants including organic gases and vapours, acid gases, chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia and particulates including dusts and mists.
